The classroom in Japan is quite unique, given that JTEs have monolingual classes and a large class size, as well as the fact that that JTEs spend most of the time being together with their own students as homeroom teachers. Sugita videotaped some classes to show as a starter to today's speech. Sugita will also talk about her day-to-day work, analyze some classes of hers and of other teachers, and then she'll discuss her goals as a teacher.
