Description: English grammar owes a great deal to the development of Greek grammar in ancient Greece. The presentation will cover the development of eight word classes in ancient Greece and the incorporation of those word classes into the traditional English grammar. The recent popular teaching method is communicative approach and grammar tends to be ignored. This presentation may help you to think what role English grammar should play in studying and learning English.

Description: This demonstration will present practical ideas on how to raise the issue of HIV/AIDS in the Japanese EFL classroom. The presenter will show how to keep students' affective filter low and interest high when dealing with this sensitive topic. Description: Nikkei refers to people of Japanese heritage who were raised outside Japan. There are many from North America who have lived long-term in Japan. This presentation will report on the activities and research of a group that began in 2004. Sometimes they are considered "insiders" and sometimes "outsiders." This experience can shed light on the unstated rules of Japanese society.
