Description: Of the five senses, visual (sight), auditory (hearing) and kinesthetic (touch/feel) are the most flexible and practical in the classroom. Everyone has one sense that is stronger than the others. Many of us also have one that is weak. This activity-based session will explore techniques for modifying listening and speaking tasks to provide a range of sensory input.

Description: (This is a Bilingual Presentation) The Microsoft Power Point presentation format can be a strong tool for enhancing a lesson. This workshop will provide attendees with hands on experience using Power Point applications. These applications can be used for showing audio visual materials with the use of a scanner. Likewise, making graphs and slides help people to grasp the ideas we are trying to present. This presentation will teach all the basic skills for using power point and introduce some more advanced techniques if time is permitted.

Description: As a class project, video exchanges between classes in two different countries have great potential for learning life skills and promoting cultural awareness as well as practicing English in small groups. The presenter will outline the different steps involved in this student-generated activity and discuss the components which range between an email exchange with the target class, storyboards, video editing, a useful assessment tool and so on. Handouts will be given to supplement the presentation.

Description: The Lexical Approach is one of the latest methodologies in ELT. This workshop will explore its theory and execution. The age-old dilemma remains, however, of how to make vocabulary memorable for students. We will be looking at how memory is processed in the brain and considering how we and our students remember things.
