Prepare Your Students for Academic Studies (Publisher Presentation)

Description: Students need preparation to enable them to enter a college or university armed with the strategies they need to listen, take notes and discuss ideas independently and confidently. 'Lecture Ready' is the only video-based series that trains students in the listening and language skills they need to understand and excel during lectures in their future studies. The presenter will talk about the problems/issues that students would face and skills that they need in order to survive academic study in overseas.

Making Your Teaching More Effective

Topics to be covered include: Communicating effectively with low level students without resorting to L1Classroom managementSleeping students. Are they actually being polite to the teacher? Note: Please bring a pen, shar pencil and a notebook so you can join handwriting "experiments."

Exploring Reading and Writing Connections

Description: Framing each of the two skills of reading and writing as an interactive process allows for an interesting set of engagements with the target language. We'll share ideas and explore possibilities for integrating L2 reeading and writing in the EFL classroom. Note: If you'll be workng with a particularly troubling text later in the school year, bring it along. Maybe we can put our heads together and gnerate some new lesson ideas!
