Representing the LLL SIG will be Eric Skier and Yoko Wakui. Eric will present a paper on the autonomous nature of the older learners he teaches and discuss issues of group dynamics and differences in learning styles. Yoko will present a paper on the effects of introducing yoga into language classrooms.

As always, there will be an LLL SIG forum and general meeting at the conference. We hope that this year’s forum will offer a space for members and interested parties to share ideas and research related to lifelong language learning (the teaching of language to adults of all ages). We are calling on members to offer their services as presenters. Ideally we envision a setting where ‘presenters’ sit at tables around the room and attendees move from table to table. This should allow everyone to relax and will promote small group discussion.
As well, there will be a general meeting at the conference where SIG matters will be discussed and officers will be elected for the following year. As Eric mentioned in the coordinator’s message, we would also like to arrange a SIG dinner outing for those interested in meeting in a casual setting.
