Volume 5, Issue 1 [May, 2009]
Foreword
Welcome to the spring issue of the LLL SIG newsletter.
We begin with a message from our coordinator, Eric Skier, who reminds us that the LLL SIG will take part in the Pan SIG conference to be held in Tokyo in May. Details about the conference can be found in this issue. In the first of a short series of articles, Emi Itoi writes about her use of picture books in an adult English class. For those looking for resources, Emi Itoi and Geoff Sinha review some books they have found useful in their teaching, and Yoko Wakui and Tadashi Ishida introduce books that they have produced especially for adult language learners. Many more resources will soon be available on our Web site. Please look at the proposed LLL SIG Resource List in this newsletter and feel free to suggest edits or additions. Also, if you have been following the Ueno Park series by Tadashi Ishida, the next installment awaits. Finally, if you are interested in submitting to the special issue of The Language Teacher or to this newsletter, please see the relevant Call for Submissions pages.
We look forward to hearing from you!
