Hello, and welcome to another monthly edition of JALT Talk, the announcements newsletter of the Japan Association for Language Teaching. As we celebrate Golden Week (perhaps with a working Monday thrown into the middle of it), we look ahead hopefully to a return to some semblance of normalcy. At least five of the upcoming JALT events listed below are scheduled to be in person, and we have two calls for abstracts for conferences also scheduled to be face to face events.

Call for The Listening Conference 2022  -  A Listening SIG/Kyoto Chapter event (Deadlie 24th June 2022)

The Listening SIG is delighted to announce their first ever event in affiliation with the JALT Kyoto Chapter. The Listening Conference 2022 will be a one-day event taking place in Kyoto on Sunday 25th September. Our call for presenters is now open. We are looking for 20-minute presentations + 5-minute Q&A sessions on topics related to listening and teaching, pedagogy, assessment, and resources. We are also keen to hear from you if you have another research area in listening that you would like to share. Please submit a 200-word abstract using the google form link below.

Iwate-Aomori JALT Chapter announces that abstracts for the Michinoku English Education Conference (MEES) 2022 are being accepted until April 28th, 2022.

Call for Abstracts: NELTA's 4th International ELT and Applied Linguistics Conference (Deadline April 23)

Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) is one of JALT's partners. The JALT International Affairs Committee (IAC) announces that abstracts for NELTA's 4th Annual Conference are being accepted until April 23.
