Description: This is our officers and annual planning meeting. We will be brainstorming, planning and confirming the presentations and events for 2008.

All officers should attend. Everyone else is welcome to attend. Please come and bring your ideas and suggestions.

* NOTE: We will be gathering at the Kyouiku Kaikan and then moving to a nearby location, TBA.

Elementary school English education: What can be done?

Description: The presenters have been working together in the field of elementary school English for more than 20 years. Seeking "the development of Japanese who can use English," we have used our original methods for teaching children in kindergartens, private and public elementary schools, and language schools. We will introduce these methods and our actual teaching practice, and present the results we have seen in teaching children.

A practical activity for a TOEIC preparation class

Description: This presentation will introduce a practical activity to get students more involved in a TOEIC preparation class. In the activity, students make a presentation about the company they would like to work for, using some expressions in their TOEIC textbook. The presenter will also report the results of a questionnaire survey about the activity. The results show that about 70 per cent of the students think the activity is helpful in improving their English skills.
