General Information
This year, the ER SIG is collaborating with JALT CALL to allow attendees to explore the connections between these two areas in research and practice in language teaching. The JALT CALL2013 conference is one of the premier CALL conferences in Asia and we are happy for the opportunity to blend our events. The ER SIG encourages participants to join all days of the joint event (May 31 ~ June 2).

Fees & Registration Note that pre-registration will be open April 15th and must be completed by 5:00 p.m. May 15th. Pre-registration is also the only way you can ensure a place at the networking reception on June 1st.

ER Seminar Call for Proposals
Submissions for this year’s JALTCALL2013 Conference and 6th Annual ER Seminar are now closed and notifications have been sent. If you would like to check on an existing submission check into your account here. Accepted presenters must pre-register by May 10th and pay by May 15th in order to ensure your slot in the program.
ER Seminar Session Types
The session types this year will closely mirror those of the CALL Conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the following types of sessions.
Paper Presentations
Include empirical studies in a given ER/EL environment, theoretical discussion of an issue relevant to the field of ER/EL, evaluative studies of ER/EL in practice, discussion of policies or strategies at an institutional, regional, or national level, etc.
Length: 30 minutes presentation + 10 minutes questions
Show & Tell Presentations
Descriptions of a given language learning environment using ER or EL or particular techniques for using ER or EL. These descriptions should help inform listeners about current classroom and/or institutional practice and provide insights to guide their own practices. However, there is less expectation regarding evaluation or research design issues associated with the environment than in a paper presentation.
Length: 30 minutes presentation + 10 minutes questions
Workshops
Include practical demonstrations on how to use various tools, techniques or innovative ideas for ER and EL-based language learning environments. These presentations should have concrete, practical applicability to classroom or institutional practice and there should be an emphasis on interactive participation by the listeners rather than description only.
Length: 90 minutes
Poster Presentations
Suitable for research still in progress, program descriptions, and other topics which may best suit flexible, conversational interaction with small numbers of listeners.
